The tall glass tower of the Radisson Blu Iveria...

The tall glass tower of the Radisson Blu Iveria Hotel in Tbilisi.
One of the largest buildings in the beautiful capital city of Tbilisi, Georgia the hotel sits by the Mtkvari River in the centre of the business district and famous Rustaveli Avenue, its glistening glass structure giving amazing views out over the city.
Tbilisi has a mix of influences through it’s architecture with a mixture of local georgian, European/Russian neo-classical and middle eastern styles. The old parts of town are all very distinctive Georgian with middle eastern influences and the 19th century areas, including the Rustaveli Avenue (above) have a very neoclassical look, which is a strong contrast.
The 20th century marked a bit of a architectural revival with many of the buildings going up at the time of a very art nouveau style, some of which has a very soviet feel.
