The daunting view from the bottom of Europe’s tallest hotel, The Radisson Blu in Lyon. It stands 541 ft high and is half occupied by office space and the hotel itself. It is also Frances ninth tallest building. It is a city centre hotel but in Lyons ‘second city centre’ or the La Part-Dieu district, the building is officially named the Tour Part Dieu but is also known widely by its nickname as ‘The Pencil’.
