A Pool In Cairo
Cairo is the capital of Egypt and also the largest city in Africa and the Arab World. It has a population of 6.76 million and has the desert climate you would expect to find in Egypt.
It also has a very rich cultural background and has, as far as four thousand years ago, stood as ‘the land where civilizations have met’. The Greeks, Pharaohs, Babylonians and Romans have all left there imprint in the land. Nowadays it still has a very rich culture with the famous Cairo Opera House and the International Film Festival being held there.
The city has a fine selection of Museums as well with The Egyptian Museum being the most well known. It has over 136,000 items on display showing off ancient Egyptian antiques.
Finding accommodation in Cairo is simple as well, being such a big city you are spoilt for choice. The Radisson Blu Heliopolis is where the pool in the above picture is located and is an ideally situated hotel just 3km from Cairo International Airport.

The Park Inn Hotel, Thurrock.
Thurrock is located in the English county of Essex and has a quite rich and varied culture and architectural background for a place of it’s size. The Hugh Grant film, Four Weddings and a Funeral was filmed in West Thurrock and they used St Clements Church. Thurrock can also be seen in 28 Days Later and Alfie (2004 version). Tilbury Docks was the location for some of the filming of Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade and Batman Begins was shot at the Coalhouse Fort.
Many were taking advantage of the Art Deco architecture, such as the State Cinema, which was used in a part of Who Framed Roger Rabbit. While others used it for the very British feel like the Park Inn above that along with it’s grounds makes for a very quintessentially British looking manor. The Thurrock hotel also has a wedding licence for those who want to recreate the manor wedding feeling.
